Accessibility Tools

We want every student to feel comfortable using library resources and be able to fully access all of the resources available through the Library Portal.

As a fully digital library, Arden’s Library Portal and resources offer various in-built tools and features to make the content more accessible. You can find more information below on the accessibility features and tools for the main platforms available through the Library Portal.

Create an Accessible Copy

We’ve selected resources to be as accessible as possible but if you still experience barriers or have a particular learning need, there are several tools on offer to convert content into an alternative format that you find easier to access.

If you need support please let us know so we can help to provide resources in an alternative format: libraries@arden.ac.uk

Sensus Access

SensusAccess is a self-service, alternate media solution. You can use this software to automatically convert documents into a range of alternate media including audio books (MP3 and DAISY), e-books (EPUB, EPUB3 and Mobi) and digital Braille. The service can also be used to convert inaccessible documents such as image-only PDF files, JPG pictures and Microsoft PowerPoint presentations into more accessible formats.
