Welcome to the first Library Spotlight!

May brings with it Global Accessibility Awareness Day on Thursday 18th May. Here at Arden we're passionate about accessibility and want to make sure you're getting the most out of your experience with our eBooks. So, let’s have a look at some of the accessibility features we have on BibliU our main eBook platform. In terms of accessibility BibliU has an ASPIRE score of 100% and a Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) Level of AA, which are very good scores and are all based on how the accessibility of the digital content meets your needs.

In BibliU some of the highlights are:

Reader Settings – allow you to customise your reading experience through changing the font style, font and background colour, formatting as well as zooming in and out.

Reading Features – inbuilt text-to-speech options mean that you can select from a range of different voices/accents. There’s also a speed-reader option that allows you to select the reading speed. BibliU is also compatible with all major external screen-readers.

Keyboard Commands – the BibliU platform is designed in a way that allows users to navigate the contents using keyboard commands as well as a mouse or trackpad.

Read Offline/PDF – you’ll be able to read books offline meaning that you will not need to use precious data, whilst some books will even let you download extracts as a PDF.

The reason these features are so useful is because they allow you to customise your reading experience to suit your needs - whether it’s listening to the book through the text-to-speech option or changing the colour formatting to make it easier to read!

We hope you enjoying using BibliU as much as we do!
